Update Day Sunday, July 10

Another brilliant day in Berry Creek.   Woke up and it was almost cool enough to wear long sleeves.   Not for long.  Once the sun broke over the tops of the giant pine trees it got hot fast.   NOT too hot.  Dry hot.  Yes,  there IS a difference.

Mary and Al commenced to finishing up their packing.   I got a few last minute instructions from Al who is a good " explainer".    Everything was tied up a little earlier than expected and we said our goodbyes about an hour ago.

Sad to see the little caravan with 2 eager and excited adventurers head out the gate .   And exciting too.

Have been just enjoying the sunshine ,  hanging laundry out in the garden. Chasing lizards who skitter away along the rocks and the fence when they see me coming.

Listening to a small family of shiny black crows raising an unholy ruckus down in the meadow,  one really large fella strutting and then stiff leggedly hopping around in circles.

The holly hocks are at least 13' tall and are full and just beautiful...... I was being dive bombed by the hummingbirds and bees when i went out to photograph them.

There is a nest of ash throated fly catchers in the orchard.  I'll be watching them closely and hopefully see the fledglings leaving the nest

I just wanted to check in before i move my things from the guest house into the big house.  Because i think it will take me a little time,  I took Marie's giant suitcase with me.

Kate,  Al said he's so proud of you for running  .

I'll keep the updates coming.   Hope to hear from you soon.

love

Mom/Sal
