WELL, i arrived safe and sound in Sacramento yesterday afternoon after 2 smooth uneventful flights.
i confess that the anti anxiety pills from Dr Kaplan helped. I took one before we boarded at Bradley and missed the take off completely opening my eyes somewhere over ......I don't know, I woke up when the stewardesses were collecting garbage and we landed in Dallas within about 20 minutes
In Dallas i had to take the "tram" from D concourse to A concourse no big deal , very easy. At the A concourse i was looking for lunch and had to try Texas BBQ and got a brisket sandwich..... airport food is airport food but maybe someday ....hey anybody want a road trip to Texas some time ?
I fell asleep for the very first part of the next take off but stayed awake the rest of the flight because i didn't want to miss flying over Santa Fe, 4 corners , Bryce park and lake Tahoe. There were lot's of clouds so i got some shots of them and what landscape i could , Note: the mountains in the sierra's are still snow covered.
Uncle Albie was sitting there waiting for me and it was good to see him. we're both a little older and more weathered this year.
a quick trip to Oroville and a couple of errands there and up to Berry Creek where everything is green and blooming and the humming birds are diving around the feeders.
Mary and I shared a few glasses of wine. We had a lovely light dinner of pasta w/scallops and a salad and i was ready to crash.
i don't know what time it was ......anywhere......between no sleep for a few days, (except flying) the zanax and the wine i barely got off my shoes and jeans...... when i woke in the dark to go to the bathroom i got up and tried to go to the bathroom in my house before i woke a little and said....oh wait.....im in Al and Mary's guest house.
i wast totally knocked out overnight. I woke up very calm. but without sense of place.....unusual for me here in Berry Creek ...
im feeling a little disconnected and within myself.
im looking forward to a little quiet meditation out in the yard.....but right now the long fuzzy nuzzle of a shaved poodle is nudging me to get up so i can throw him the ball.
by the way, has anyone come across my sun hat? maybe at grampas? or in his truck? or at Keith and Nicoles?
I hope you guys are all alright.
now that im here im looking forward to "being" here .
I have turned around a few times because i felt like Brenna was leaning on the back of my leg......
it's 103 in the valley but up here is only 80 its dry and sunny and the pond is full.
well im gonna go. Ill write again tomorrow. for now im going to look at the water system with Al. the objective is keeping the garden watered all summer and the orchard.
for now the meadow is green and there is asparagus in the garden .
don't forget, my cell phone won't work while up here in Berry Creek. Ill have to call you when im down in town. No long distance outgoing on this phone either. but i will email every day.
