i kept really busy moving yesterday, moving around that is.
I did a couple laps around the property here, around the meadow and pond and house.
I also worked in the garden , sything down weeds and pulling them too. I couldn't get the gas powered weed wacker to work .
i pruned roses and pulled weeds and thats about it.
i enjoyed being in the sun. i enjoyed listening to the rush of wind through the pines and oaks and madrones as it rolled out of the mountains, coming in waves like the ocean to the shore .
one wave of wind after another and you can hear it starting from up the mountain and moving down . When it finally reaches you and slides across your skin, cool like silk and lifts the hair off the back of your neck you just stand there arms lifted to the sides, face up to greet it....smelling the pine and the orchard, the mint and the sage and feel so clean and refreshed.....and then it's gone, and it's still and all you hear are the birds and bullfrogs...and again feel the heat of the white hot sun...and go back to the weeding or walking and happy waiting for the next wave to come.
I did the yoga tape. i had a cheese omelet for supper, and i watched the dumbest movie ( in my opinion) ever filmed...." take an idiot to dinner " with the guy from " the Office" . i do not recommend it unless you are in the mood for a totally mindless distraction. the funniest part in my opinion was the ending, the epilogue if you will.
im going to work in the yard again today. it feels good.
one close encounter yesterday.....i was doing a lap with the happy little dog....and we were kind of close to the brush on the east side of the road and we disturbed something that we could hear jump and rustle. She stopped and so i stopped too. And a distinctive stomp came from just beyond the edge in those thickets, only a mere feet from where we were standing. I couldn't see anything but heard a very definite stomp 5 times....i had to listen. i was amazed at how clear the sound was and without any doubt knew what the sound was. I resumed my lap calling the little dog along. With the poodles gone the deer are losing their fear and coming in really close to the road and the yard. One was warning me that we were to close to it
I've only seen one rabbit this morning. I hope that means that the others were sleeping.
ill write tonight or tomorrow.
i may go to bald rock today.
