Again, sunny, warm, and gorgeous here.
The hummingbirds zooming around, jack rabbits playing in the meadow, crows yapping in the pines.
I took a walk with the camera around 6:30. The light is rosy, golden here in the morning.
Still waiting to hear on Kate. Surgery or not.
Yesterday there was some work to do in the garden. The squash in the bed with the beans and peppers is growing over the strawberries so i put together a grid, over the top of the frame thats over the strawberry bed and trained the squash to go up there instead of right through the berries. Found some wire and mended the gate. Watered roses, picked lettuce and beans. There are loads of green tomatoes.
I drove down and picked up the mail and kept going till i got to the turnoff across from the road to Forbestown and Feather Falls. I bought a watermelon there.
Larry called from town to see if i needed anything, which was nice of him. So he stopped by and had tacos for supper. I already had some beans fixed up for tacos and Fran left some Chorizo ....( the Mexican kind is so different than the Portugese kind im used to, the Chorizo just falls apart when you cook it...kind of mushy..) Well he stayed just long enough to eat and chat for a few .
Tomorrow he's giving me a housecleaning job. If i time it right there could be a photo session of sunset on Bald Rock.
After cleaning up supper dishes and attempting to watch a Nat Geo special about how stress affects the body but falling asleep in the recliner, I checked email but fell asleep doing that so went to bed by 9, it was almost dark.
The lone coyote woke me up barking in the meadow around midnight, he must have been on a scouting mission. He barked, then further away another one barked back, and from a different direction another answered. They did start singing to each other but gathered elsewhere, i could hear their voices moving closer together but further away from here. Sometime near dawn the owl was here and caught some little screaming thing.
A busy day? Maybe.
Missed the edge of one of the step planks when staining the deck so want to tidy that up.
Also planning on taking a book down by the pond today and getting some reading done and look out for the turtle.
Maybe go to town to drop off the weed wacker and cash a check and fill up the tank so i can go to Walker Plains and watch the meteor shower, early morning on the 12th.
Berry Creek Festival on the 13th.
I'll probably visit, check out the entertainment.
Wish i had thought of it earlier and had better photos from my last visit , probably might have been able to get some post cards or calendars of Bald Rock put together and had a booth.
Time for morning tea.
write when you get a chance
